Amelia Zylberman Signs with California State University Fullerton
“Since I was little, I have always dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player and it was not until a few years ago that the prospect of college tennis came into the picture. After learning more about the US College pathway, I gravitated towards it because of the competitive tennis opportunities that are available while simultaneously having the chance to study and earn a degree.
After speaking with the head coach and a few players on the team, I felt that the culture within the team was a great fit for what I was looking for, and I am really excited about the high-quality competition that I'll be exposed to while playing for California State University Fullerton (CSUF). The weather, location, and proximity to many additional tennis events outside of college, including ITFs and UTR Pro Events, also contributed largely to my decision to choose CSUF.
My goals at college are to continue developing my tennis game and make the most of each training session and match. I hope that I can take my tennis to a higher level to give myself the best opportunity to potentially go professional following my college career.
I will be studying psychology. I am really excited to meet so many new people and form new connections, both in the tennis team and through various other aspects of college life.
I am also really looking forward to all the tennis training and matches, and for the chance to travel to places I have never been before.
I'd love to thank the Kooyong Foundation for supporting me over the years. I will always appreciate the many ways in which the Foundation has contributed to my tennis journey. Similarly, I'd like to thank Yonex Australia for providing me with the highest quality equipment! I also want to thank my parents for being my biggest supporters and always believing in me.”
We wish Amelia all the best on her college journey at California State University Fullerton.
