The 4th edition of the Peter Quinn Cup was once again a joyous gathering of some of Kooyong’s best young talent. 40 Foundation players battled it out on the clay courts in the round robin format playing for the Peter Quinn Cup, named after one of the original instigators of the Kooyong Foundation, former chairman and former Club president.

After the round robin stages concluded we were left with 4 teams: Thomas Smith/Elizabeth Nad vs Arayan Karnani/Heidi Kuppler in one semi-final, with the other pitting Jenson Yokota-Ho/Charlie Willimans Vs David Hough/Gemma Pearson.

It was Smith/Nad and Hough/Pearson who came out on top to set up an exciting final in front of the large crowd. A tense battle, finished off by a classy topspin backhand lob by Lizzie Nad secured the win for her and Smith 10-8 in a super tiebreak.
